Tea for Two!

I posted pics previously of my precious friend Jill and her expecting twin BOYS, and this was her last shower that was hosted by her sister-in-laws and me. It was small and precious! We drank hot tea from china and every little detail was thought of! I am so excited for Joe and Jill. Please keep her in your prayers...the boys are expected to be here by the end of the month!!!!
Jack was all about the presents! He loved the baby boat...aka baby bathtub!
One of my favorite pics of us! He is getting so big!
And this picture is a good representation of my days with Jack!

I made the name banners...I was pretty proud! I thought they turned out cute!

Memphis Zoo we love you!

In early April we went on a zoo trip with lots of fun folks from our congregation! Due to the potty breaks and pregnancy sickness I was lucky enough to hitch a ride with my friend Jenny in her minivan/party van! It was such a fun day! The weather was beautiful and the kids were amazingly well behaved! I love the Memphis zoo...not as much as St. Louis, but it is a close second for sure! This is just a small taste of the drive on the way home! How much fun do these kids look like?

So we kept trying to get a family picture and this is the best we could come up with! Thanks Nathan! I guess our church kids are our family so this turned out alright!

Precious boy was waiting on the Polar Bears...I waited all day to see them and they totally did not show up! BUMMER!!!

My two favorite men! I'm glad he wants to be like his Daddy!

Thanks Easter Bunny!

In our family the tradition is for the Easter Bunny to hide the eggs inside the house...that way it is always good weather :) So when Jack got up he was so surprised to find eggs everywhere and an Easter basket full of goodies! This egg was hidden in the plant! He thought that was hilarious!
Looks like he did well this year!
This is the only pic I could get of Jack and his precious Lucy Beth! She refused a picture and as you can see with the help of someone we were able to capture the moment! Sidenote....you will notice Jack's pink shirt. Well, he was not happy at all about this. When I walked in the room that morning he said, "You see this shirt!" I replied, "Yes Jack, what is wrong with it?" "I don't like it! It is a color you like," he boasted! Silly boy, I laughed and laughed and still made him wear the shirt.

Easter lunch was spent with the Hancock's has usual! They are so good to our family! The boys played and played...this is where I found them when I went outside. That's right, that shirt was no longer a pretty shade of pink! I guess he showed me!!

Annual Egg Hunt!

East Wood has an annual egg hunt at the Durham's home and it is always a blast! This year was especially fun since Jack knew what was going on. We had a great turn out and a yummy breakfast to go along with the egg hunt fun! We are so blessed to have such a good church family!

I LOVE his sweet face in this picture!
During the egg hunt Jack would occassionally open the eggs to see if they were worth keeping...if not he would simply toss it back on the ground for the next luck...or not so lucky winner!

This Lucy Beth...Jack's dream girl as of right now! He was so proud to be in a picture with her...she wasn't as impressed as you can tell :) She is one adorable little girl!

Twas' the Night Before Easter

This was it...the big event before the big bunny comes! Dying the Easter eggs!!! Jack was a little confused about how we were gonna "kill" the eggs to get them to die...he kept asking if we were gonna shoot them lol...poor thing has watched WAY too MANY hunting shows! This picture melts my heart...looks just like a little baby face!

Notice the hand on the hip as usual!!!
Our beautiful eggs! Jack was soooooo proud!

Memaw and Pepaw treats!

The Memphis School of Preaching Lectureship is always the week before Easter. We were fortunate to be able to go for a few days as usual. This time Chris was a speaker so I was especially PROUD! During our visit we stayed at Memaw and Pepaws house. They loaded Jack up with some Easter treats! He was one happy boy...as any candy addict would be! He seriously has a problem!

Story hour Milestone!

I love the story hour before Easter! They have fun snacks for the kids, books and songs about the Easter bunny, and an egg hunt! However...I did make the mistake of telling Jack the Easter bunny would be there (he was last year). Jack was so excited...but the bunny didn't show. I felt so bad...He looked at me and said, "but Mommy, I love him and I was gonna sit on his lap!" So parents take note...NEVER tell your kid something unless you have investigated it before hand lol! Ok..the title implies there is to be big news announced in this post....you will just have to scroll down to see! This is what is left of our playgroup crew at story hour! They are quite the group! So precious!

Sweet Caroline is still at the top of Jack's favorite buddies list! I can't believe how big they are!

Now for the main event! It has nothing to do with Easter eggs....It has everything to do with Jack and the American flag!!!

That's right folks...Jack Butler participated!!!! He held the flag for the first time in 2 yrs! This was big news for us and EVERYONE had their camera out to witness the moment...we were all in disbelief! He was so proud as you can tell with his hand on his hip :) Jack is surprisingly shy in situations like this and anything that makes him uncomfortable at all he does not want to do...it was a big day for him and me! I had decided not to push...it makes things worse...on his own he took a huge step and my heart has never felt so proud. I know it is just a flag, but to me it was a moment that told me Jack is gonna fight through those feelings and mature! Yay for my boy!
